A house called home

It has been passed few months when we make a purchase on our dream house in Setia Alam. Rewinding back to the past, we search and hunt everywhere including Puchong, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Kepong, Subang, Putra Height and many more for our future house. We finally found our dream house at Setia Alam bearing house No 21 and purchase date on 21st March. Coincidentally my birthday is also 21st July. So I guess I really have some fate with no 21. We did all the necessary steps to get it done. The sales and purchase goes smoothly and we got the key on early of July.

It was a pure joy moment and we work hard on our new home. It was in a total messy condition and it took a lot of our time, effort and energy starting from zero. A lot of discussion, planning, and budget all come into action. We even ask our friend to give some interior design idea. When everything is up, we did what most of a renovation will needs to do first. Wiring. Additional point, concealed most of the wiring into the wall, downlight and lots more. Then hacking and replacing 1x1 ceramic tiles to 2x2 homogeneous tiles in living room, walls hacking, and finally painting. We thought of using Nippon paint but ended up using ICI Dulux. Partition and built in furniture is the next thing we did. Together on the same day, the lighting and fan was fitted in and final touch up on the paint. Luckily our neighbour introduce us a good indonesian painter. Really recommended! Cheap and very reliable. We called him come over for minor touch up for over 10 times. Haha. The moment you hang up the phone, he almost reach our home. That’s what I call efficient. Pakno is his name.

Next steps are furniture. We spend quite a lot of time hunting for furniture, dining table and sofa and even go to exhibition such as Perfect Living in PWTC. Finally we have collateral idea on the furniture and bought it home. Then slowly we work out on electrical goods such as fridge, washing machine, TV and voila, I will be moving in today. Official date is actually on 1 Malaysia day which is 16 Sept. Some ask us is it a selected good day? Well, nah, it just a public holiday and we thought 1 Malaysia day is a good day to move in. Haha. But the actual date is actually today where I will be start staying there for good.

Wow, it really kills a lot of time and energy starting from zero even it's a subsale unit. We are really relieve as it’s finally over and the result really satisfied us. There is still lots of thing haven’t do yet but heck, money didn’t rain from heaven. So slowly we will start saving again and will do it in future.

Finally a chapter in my blog saying that I have a house that I can call home.
