Last Saturday night, I get to taste the world famous rib, Tony Roma's. Thanks to someone who wanted to buy me a dinner. We were there and was served by an African lady name Farah (If I am not mistaken) who work there as waitress. She is very helpful that night although the restaurant was crowded at that time. We ask her to recommend us another main course besides the well known TR's ribs. In the end, after her suggestion and our own opinion, we ended up ordering TR'S Sampler Ribs and filet mignon steak (medium rare). She was like did you just said medium rare and not medium well? I firmly told her yes, please. Sampler Ribs come with the 4 famous TR's sauce and one by one she teaches us the uniqueness of each sauce ranging from sweetness to spicy. I couldn't remember the name of the sauce though, and the BBQ sauce is goddamn nice. For starter we ordered Onion Ring Loaf and we get a free complimentary bread.
Firstly we were served Onion Ring Loaf which tastes good but the serving portion is kinda big for just 2 of us. Then came our main course which is the steak and the ribs. The steak was cook to medium rare and the chef assistant took initiative to ask us to cut and sample it to see if it's up to our expectation. The juice was flowing into our mouth when we took our first bite. It was very tender and juicy steak. Then into the middle part, the meat colour became reddish and pinkish and it's a little uneasy to go down with. Although it's nice and juicy, when you look at the red bloody meat, your mind started to play trick on you. Haha. This steak itself cost us about RM60 as filet mignon is a small, choice cut from the small end of the tenderloin, the most tender and most expensive cut by weight. It's kinda expensive for us but compare to wagyu or kobe beef which easily cost about Rm200-RM300, it’s just nothing. TR's do serve wagyu beef at the price of RM99.

The TR's Sampler ribs came with 4 TR's famous sauce. Each of the ribs is dip with their sauce and that make it special. The name Sampler could be easily means each of their 4 signature sauce. The rib is very tender and easy to be eaten. The bones are kinda huge and that make us look like Flinstone age. Seriously, their rib taste good.

The bill came to us with a total amount of RM130++. Well, you would think it's not that expensive and all this thanks to Hong Leong credit card. The second main course we ordered is just half of the price. I guess one fine day we could try their wagyu steak for half of the price. It was an enjoyable dinner that night in TR’s Sunway. There is a lot of restaurant that served even better steak. I would say TR's is good choice for us in term of taste and value but of course I haven't tried the best steakhouse around like Prime, Maredo, Jake's etc. I heard you were given choices of ages of the meat up to 200 days, type of beef like Kobe, Agnus, Matsusaka and lot more $$$ beef. I am not sure about you guys, but everyone said that medium rare is the best cooked steak.
PS: Picture taken from the net cause on that time, my camera batt out of juice. Paisehh |
