We went to Kian Joo Jungle Walk 2008 at Kampong Sg. Penchala. It was my second attempt as the first one I was totally unprepared and the trail was so slippery. I failed to finish and back track out all alone in the jungle. I couldn't remember where it was held back then but it was quite a nightmare. I promise myself I wouldn’t attend Kian Joo Jungle Walk ever again. Somehow, my colleague manages to persuade me to Year 2008 Final jungle walk on last Saturday.

I make some preparation like buying Adidas Kampong shoes, some first aid in the bag, torchlight, energy bar, 1.2L of water and others. Yeah, it seems a little exaggerating but hey, who know you might need it while lost in the jungle.

We started walking from 3.15pm and when I saw the trail just before entering, I was like, damn it! I shouldn’t have come in the first place. One by one going down and I was observing the trail and it look like a downhill to the jungle and up all the way to sky high. Yeah, somehow it looks like this to me. Started jungle walk and while climbing the hill, my leg is so tired and just before 20 minute, I started to ask someone "Are we there yet?” Lol, they told me we haven’t even reached the main course yet. I am so exhausted by the time in the middle of the trail.

Somehow me and Daph managed to finish the whole jungle walk with some minor hiccups here and there in the jungle. Thanks to the sweeper for helping out a lot. Yeah, we are the last but I felt so satisfied when I walk out of the jungle at 6pm. A freaking 3 hours in there. Will I be back again? Erm, perhaps I will! I need to keep on challenging myself. The next jungle walk will be 3 months ahead. Gotta get prepared and this time to make sure I won’t came out last again.

There are some freebies given such as shirt, box of chocolate, and dinner was served at there. I love their roasted lamb so much. There is lucky draw too and I am a little lucky this time. Nope, I dun get any drawing prize but I manage to buy the price from my Malay friend. He doesn’t need a bag and furthermore, he doesn’t know anything about the branded Deuter Navajo 18 with capacity of 18L and 650gm. It came with airstripes profiles with mesh lining ensure maximum air circulation and stability. When I contacted Deuters agent in Bangsar they told me it cost Rm180 nett and I manage to get it for a price of nuts. Now how cool is that.
Well, all thing ends well I guess. I have one hell good experience to brag with. |
